CSTI recommendation of 6 December 2001 concerning the 2002-2006 RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT FRAMEWORK PROGRAMME

Recommendation published the 6 december 2001

The Strategic Advisory Board on Information Technologies,
Considering order n°2000-1080 of 7 November 2000 establishing the Strategic Advisory Board on Information Technologies,
Considering the question submitted for examination on 7 August 2001,
Considering the draft framework programme of 11 September 2001 for 2002-2006 research and development work - technologies for the information society,

Recommends: 

That the European 2002-2006 research and development framework programme : :

  • Support the creation of integrated projects large enough to have a real impact on the competitiveness of European companies;

  • Increase the budget share allocated to the information and communication technologies;

  • Raise its technology transfer targets and reserve a larger share for company laboratories within upstream research networks;

  • Provide for project orientation and evaluation primarily by industrial partners, and consider their administrative management by national organisations.
