Mr. Hourcade serves as Senior
Vice-President, Research and Innovation of the THOMSON Group since February 2000,
serves as Chief Technology Officer since 2002, and serves as Senior Executive
Vice-president Technology Group since 2004. Mr. Hourcade is member of the THOMSON
Executive Committee.
Prior to being appointed to his current position, Mr.
Hourcade served from 1995 to 2000 as Vice President Strategic Planning, Thomson-CSF,
where he was in charge of Corporate Strategy, Strategic Alliances and M&A
activities. He joined the Thomson Group in February 1986, coming from the National
Institute for Audiovisual where he worked as R&D engineer in computer graphics
and special effects. During the following years, he served as Chairman and CEO
of Thomson Digital Image (TDI), a leading company in 3D Computer Graphics software
and systems.
Mr Hourcade serves as Chairman of "RIAM" since its
conception in February 2001. "RIAM" is the French national Network for
Audiovisual & Multimedia Innovation, funded by the Ministeries of Industry,
Research, and Culture & Communication.
Mr. Hourcade is a graduate of
École Polytechnique and École Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications
in Paris.
